Meet the farmers

In the late 1990’s we decided that a young retirement from the medical industry was in our future. Since we were really too young to “retire” but we wanted to escape the harsh Chicago winters we went in search of new careers in a new location. While vacationing in Hawaii and looking for possibilities we had the opportunity to stay in a cottage on a working coffee farm in South Kona and decided that this is what we wanted to do. We purchased our 10 acre coffee farm in 2000 and commuted back and forth from Chicago for 5 years. We relocated permanently to our farm in 2005. We do all of the farming and coffee processing ourselves. Our farm also provides us with an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables from the garden. In our free time Craig has taken up the sport of outrigger canoeing at a local canoe club. Cheryl has become involved in learning about the Hawaiian Culture by studying hula and language with a local Halau. Our lives are busy and full but we end each day in appreciation of our surroundings and watch the sun set over the pacific ocean.
